Use
Use this function if you want the EWM outbound delivery to reflect exactly which stock-specific unit of measure (SUoM) has been picked.
Prerequisites
You have selected the Update Delivery Item SUoM checkbox for the outbound delivery item type in Customizing for Extended Warehouse Management under Good Issue Process Outbound Delivery Manual Settings Define Item Types for Outbound Delivery Process.
Features
Outbound Delivery Order (ODO)
Usually the full quantity is picked in an SUoM. Then the UoM and quantity of the delivery item are overwritten by the alternative quantity and UoM of the picked quant. If the item quantity is picked only partly in the warehouse task in any UoM, subitems are created in the outbound delivery under the delivery item which is in process. Under the main item, there is one subitem for each picked UoM.
For non-batch-managed products, the hierarchy type UOM is used for these subitems. There can be maximum one subitem of type UOM for each picked SUoM.
ExampleAfter replication there is one outbound delivery item with the following attributes:
10 | PRODUCT_A | 30 | EA |
If you pick one carton of six, one carton of ten, four pieces, and another carton of ten, the outbound delivery has the following attributes:
10 | UOM | PRODUCT_A | 30 | EA | |
20 | + | UOM | PRODUCT_A | 1 | C06 |
30 | + | UOM | PRODUCT_A | 2 | C10 |
40 | + | UOM | PRODUCT_A | 4 | EA |
If the delivery item is batch managed, the system creates one subitem with hierarchy type BSP for each batch value and UoM.
ExampleAfter replication there is one outbound delivery item with the following attributes:
10 | PRODUCT_A | 30 | EA |
If you pick one carton of six from batch 2010, one carton of six from batch 2011, one carton of six from batch 2010, and one carton of twelve from batch 2010, the outbound delivery has the following attributes:
10 | BSP | PRODUCT_A | 30 | EA | ||
20 | + | BSP | PRODUCT_A | 2010 | 2 | C06 |
30 | + | BSP | PRODUCT_A | 2011 | 1 | C06 |
40 | + | BSP | PRODUCT_A | 2010 | 1 | C12 |
In the case of an early batch split already being created in the ERP outbound delivery, the system creates new subitems with the hierarchy type UOM under each batch subitem, resulting in a two-level hierarchy.
ExampleAfter replication there is one outbound delivery item with the following attributes:
10 | BSP | PRODUCT_A | 22 | EA | ||
20 | + | BSP | PRODUCT_A | 2010 | 16 | EA |
30 | + | BSP | PRODUCT_A | 2011 | 7 | EA |
If in EWM you pick one carton of six and one carton of ten from batch 2010, and one carton of six and one piece from batch 2011, the outbound delivery has the following attributes:
10 | BSP | PRODUCT_A | 22 | EA | ||
20 | + | BSP | PRODUCT_A | 2010 | 16 | EA |
40 | ++ | UOM | PRODUCT_A | 2010 | 1 | C06 |
50 | ++ | UOM | PRODUCT_A | 2010 | 1 | C10 |
30 | + | BSP | PRODUCT_A | 2011 | 7 | EA |
60 | ++ | UOM | PRODUCT_A | 2011 | 1 | C06 |
70 | ++ | UOM | PRODUCT_A | 2011 | 1 | EA |
